St. Regis, Deer Valley

Now, if you’re anything like me, you like, no love, to be pampered.  And when I say pampered, I mean like princess style.  You know, like a long hot bubble with a glass of wine. Oh wait, put that bubble bath in view of a fireplace, and tell me I have unlimited access to a butler when I’m done. (yup, i said butler… like this guy used to be on staff with Queen Victoria) Ah, yes, that’s what I love. But this time, it wasn’t just me playing princess & maid with my sisters. This time there really was a butler. And a fireplace, well, make that two. And a long hot bubble bath with some sparkling wine. And it all happened at the St Regis, Deer Valley. If ever there was a time for a nice romantic luxury getaway – Valentine’s at the St Regis would have you covered, and then some.

The St. Regis, Deer Valley is nestle in the heart of Deer Valley ski resort. You can reach it by taking the funicular up, feasting your eyes on the gorgeous views as the valley sinks below you. Then you reach the luxery hotel, where beauty and the good graces of it’s staff surround you.

be sure to bring your suit, because this water is kept at 84 degrees, so you can soak after a day of skiing or a fabulous dinner.

Speaking of fabulous dinners. St. Regis is home to the world-renown chef, Jean-George. And it has this gorgeous communal table, a classic dinning room, or (my personal favorite) you can sit at this counter surrounding the kitchen, and the chef’s will provide little morsels for you to taste throughout your meal.

Then, as the sunsets over the valley and the white slopes turn sapphire – the daily ritual of the champagne saber begins. To celebrate the end of the day and the turning into night a champagne bottle is opened with a sword and served to all those. And the event occurs in their unique “fire gardens.” Now that’s the way to end a day.

Or, if you’d prefer you can watch as the sunsets, the lights on the slopes begin to glow… all from the comfort of your room.

This deck is used for weddings in the summer months, and is radiantly heated so there is never ice or snow.

One of the things that I loved about this hotel was how it incorporated it’s rich new york history with elements from the local area as well. The bar was adorned with a mural depicting the old miners from park city, and housed this gorgeous fireplace. Then the wine vault had rich red leather and diamond shapes, because the wife of the hotel’s founder loved them.

The St. Regis was also the first to begin serving Bloody Mary’s. Now, each hotel has it’s own special Bloody Mary mix. Deer Valley’s boasts vodka from the local High West Distillery

Beautiful wintery night views.

If you are lucky enough to have the St. Regis host your wedding – the entire weekend can be housed at this resort. The spa for the ladies, and this super fun game room for the guys,  (or if you’re doing a weekend valentine’s getaway – you’ve got both relaxation & fun right inside the hotel!)

Our fabulous suite. The one that comes with a butler. and chocolate.

We topped off our wonderful stay, with an oh-so-fabulous breakfast: brule oatmeal with apples & candied walnuts. Seriously I’d go up there just for that.

Thank you St. Regis, Deer Valley for a wonderfully romantic winter’s getaway. We love being pampered.
