Caitlin & Nick: Part 1
Semiahmoo Resort Wedding
Blaine, WA

They say the pacific northwest is always cloudy, with a slight drizzle. But for the wedding of Caitlin & Nick, this was a weekend of sheer perfection… including days filled with 70 degrees and sunshine. Covered in the glistening sunshine, Semiahmoo Bay, Washington, is literally the perfect place. Caitlin & Nick chose to have their wedding at Semiahmoo Resort, found nestled in the middle of the Bay, surrounded by sailboats and seagulls, with British Columbia as it’s backdrop. I’m sure, even a cloudy day would make this place look beautiful. But, then there was the added glitter of the sun sparkling on the water, splashing up against the dock, and the sun warming guests’ checks as the sea breeze ruffled skirts. It was the perfect mix of beauty and serenity. Perfect for Caitlin & Nick’s wedding.

Not only did they pick the perfect destination, they also had amazing details throughout the whole wedding that made it uniquely beautiful. I can’t wait to share all the details, but for a teaser, these are the adorable shoes andJ. Crew necklaces that Caitlin got her bridesmaids. Along with the gorgeous jewelry Caitlin wore.

The mother of the bride, adorably, had these killer heels for the wedding (so love them!) and then slipped into her dancing shoes for the reception :) How cute are they?

They had hints of gorgeous travel details… which was an adorable way to celebrate the fact that Caitlin & Nick successfully did a long distance relationship. Like seriously long distance, Nick followed God & his heart to be with Caitlin from South Africa.

Caitlin’s gorgeous gown from La Belle Elaine. It was seriously perfect for her. so so gorgeous.

The day started with a room full of best friends and best-friend-moms preparing for their big day.

Caitlin, I still can’t get over how incredibly beautiful you are. stunning.

Meanwhile, my awesome second shooter spent some time with Nick and his new brothers. A little craziness… and a little awesomeness.

Then, it was time. Time to see his beautiful bride. She couldn’t keep her eyes off of him, and he could wipe the smile off his face. It was time for their First Look. I love every moment here.

I can’t wait to share the rest… our adventures around Semiahmoo, their beautiful ceremony and perfect reception… so check back soon

Caitlin & Nick,

I was so blessed by your love for God and your love for each other, it was a perfectly beautiful day. I love you guys!

  1. Amy, you did an AMAZING job. You are such a delightful photographer – you get the best out of your subjects with your warm personality.

As for the photos and the wedding, I do not know which feeling is more overwhelming : pride in our son and joy for Nicholas as he starts a new life out there or the sheer delight of knowing that he has found such a warm and loving lady to share his life with.

Dede and Bob and their whole family, as well as the people of Bellingham made Jose and I feel so welcome while we were there – and we really appreciated that more than they could know.

We can’t stop telling our friends here in South Africa how polite, caring and friendly the people are in America. We just loved being there with you all to share this very special time.

God bless you all. Maureen and Joe
