Zip Line & Ponies
Cross Family
San Diego, CA

I love my family. I love getting to spend time with the crazies. Our get-togethers always consist of lots of loud talking-over each other, lots of really sweet things, and lots of loud laughing. And a few moments of completely mocking each other. It’s wonderful, and I love it. This year Christmas was in San Diego. Where there is this pretty sun…

Unbeknownst to most, San Diego actually has A mountain. One. With really pretty pine & oak trees. (Oak trees are one of my all time favorite things about California mountains.) And it happens to be on this one mountain where my parents live. Which means Cross-family get togethers include things like pony rides. I’d say these kiddos love them some horses.

(side note: we grew up with horses and my dad would NEVER help us ride them. Horses were my mom’s thing, and he would leave it at that. The picture where he is smiling the biggest… yeah, that’s after we commented on said lack of horse time as kids, and after he saddled up this pony and said, “some things you do just for grand-kids.”) Yeah, he’s what you’d call a good grandpa.

oh you know, just playing the drums in the garage.

and this. this there are very little words for. Christmas morning, they both came out of the bathroom looking this creepy. and, no, they didn’t even plan it. creepy.

Despite the creepy ‘staches, there was lots of fun just sitting in front of the fire. snuggles. reading. great tonka trucks. fire. coffee. cinnamon rolls. fire. and chats.

My dad’s latest addition to the camp: a zip line.

apparently we like zip lining.

love my family. :) and laughing at with them.

  1. This made my heart super happy. I also laughed out loud at that insanely creepy picture of Dave and Garret, as well as our awesome zip lining skilz. You captured all the right emotions of that trip. You are an amazing photographer ams!!!
