Cheryl & Glen: Part 3

Cheryl & Glen’s outdoor summer wedding started with a super romantic first lookย full of love, laughter and tears, then they had an incredibly heart felt ceremony under these majestic California oak trees. If you missed parts 1 & 2 you have to go back and check them out. Because Cheryl & Glen are about to party with the people that mean the most to them. Their love for each other is exemplified in their love for all those around them.

How incredible is the light for this cocktail hour?! ย The oak trees set an incredible canopy over the reception area and set the mood for the romance, love and all around incredible time that was about to happen. Cheryl & Glen are the kind of people who have deep relationships and the people who love, LOVE them … and are super ready to celebrate because Cheryl & Glen just said “I do.”

Pops of yellow, red and teal were everywhere and all of the details in the reception were so well thought out and meaningful to the bride and groom.

Words are very important to Cheryl & Glen. While they were dating they would take long car rides and read to each other from JRR Tolkien books (they are also self-professing nerds). They kept this as a central part of their reception with short stacks of books at each table. I love how so many of those books were chosen because of what they meant to the couple. They have a deep faith in God and that was a really important aspect of their relationship they wanted to express on their first day of marriage. Each one of these tags represents someone who is an important part of Cheryl & Glen’s life. They didn’t just have a party, they had a party where each and every person present was someone who mattered to them. Remember how important words are to Cheryl & Glen?

Their favors were bundles of chocolates, each wrapped with a quote about love. There were like 50 different quotes! And you know this wasn’t just a google search for love quotes, these were individually chosen and hunted for crazy-meaningful quotes. How romantic is that?

I love how they even incorporated the book theme into their unique guest book. ย Guests cut out dictionary words and drawings for the bride & groom to read throughout the years.ย Mr & Mrs Smallman! ย These two are ready to celebrate!

The light streaming through those oak trees made for the perfect first dance for Cheryl & Glen. A few sweet moments during the toasts. I think the toasts made everyone tear up and crack up. They are so loved by the people that surrounded them on this day.ย

This scrumtrulecent (word credit: Glen Smallman)ย cake made by the bride’s mother, was the perfect blend of simple outdoor deliciousness and gorgeous wedding cake.

This is awesome! How she’s opening her mouth as big as she can to try and keep Glen from smashing it on her face. And, I’m pretty sure Glen smashed first. These lovely ladies are ready to catch the bouquet… the flower girls are (again) my favorite :)Boom. It’s stud time! Glen’s got this thing down. Yay! She caught it!!!ย Let the dancing begin. Party Rockin’ style. Everyone had a blast and the dance floor was jamming thanks to DJย Jesus Velasquez.

Congratulations on finding each other Cheryl & Glen! You put together one killer wedding and the perfect start to your life as Mr. & Mrs. Smallman.
