Anne & Her Adorable Family
Draper, UT

It’s that time of year… families get together from all over the place. To be honest, with most of my family living in California, it’s one of the things I get most excited for. Having everyone in the same place. The loud chatter, endless laughter, and coffee flowing. The sitting in front of the fireplace and chatting about life with my siblings.  Going on jogs with my daddio.  Eating way too much of mom’s cheese crepes. So many wonderful things about having family together. It’s the time when memories are made. And so, it’s also one of my favorite times to photograph families.

This adorable family belongs to Anne. She and her husband live in Alaska, with their children scattered all over the western states, they have made a conscious effort to get together and spend some time together. And this holiday season, they met here in Utah for some shared laughter, some tasty coffee, and wonderful memories. We got to spend on FREEZING afternoon together to capture this time.

And by freezing, I mean it was one of those days where you look outside and think, “hmmm, it’s sunny, how cold can it be?” Then that ice wind blows and freezes your nose off. :) But, despite the wind… there was fun and laughter, and memories of snuggling together and hiding from the wind. :) I sort of love that it wasn’t a perfect warm day, it’s these days that aren’t perfect that give us some of those best memories… here are just a few.

a few of Anne’s grandchildren… playing in the leaves.

and hiding from the wind (notice that yellow leaf flying past Kelly & Matt)  Love it.

The whole gang.

The lovely Anne herself. With the man that loves her so.

Aren’t these girls gorgeous?!

Then, we were off to the park, in hopes that there would be less wind there… yea, not so much. But I do sort of love their “I’m freezing” faces :) These kiddos really were such great troopers.

The original kids.

Thanks all of you for such a fun freezing afternoon :) Who knew that freezing your fingers off could be fun.  And I’m sure that hot chocolate afterwards was amazing.

HUGS!!
